Forno Cultura, King West oven

I want people to say, ‘This tastes like something my grandma made.’

Andrea Mastrandrea, blogTO

Forno Cultura is the Italian bakery Andrea Mastrandrea opened on King West in 2013 — a working oven first, a café second. Third-generation baker, trained architect, family recipes from Aida’s. The King Street shop is still the bread house: focaccia, pane, biscotti, sandwiches that sell out.

The official site puts the loaves on the homepage. BlogTO recorded Mastrandrea saying he wanted people to taste something their grandmother made. The form is Toronto. The yeast is the family madre.

A Wednesday line on a statement. Flour on the air is the whole review.
