Bagels on Fire has been making Montreal-style bagels in Toronto since 2013: from scratch, daily, in custom wood-fired ovens. The Well still prints the house line — artisan bagels and delicatessen sandwiches, the best ingredients they will name. The Beaches counter at 2248 Queen Street East sits a few doors from another coffee shop on this desk.
Sesame, poppy, a paper bag that does not make it home intact. The photograph is the official shop still used at The Well: bags of bagels on the board, not a logo, not a line of prices.
